These solutions are targeted at delivering production, enhancing field productivity or improving ultimately recoverable reserves. With the increase in productivity and the reco-
verability of reserves positively impacts the pro
ject economics, also transforming the commercial viability in these types of fields.
We recognize that a critical factor in ultimately delivering a return on investment in the upstream oil and gas industry depend on the successful delivery of a functional asset. To this end, a key differentiator from other oil and gas industry participants is our experiences in managing mature field and in redefining “subsurface” knowledge of the field.

and accepted methodologies are becoming unsustainable. The discovery of large field is now less common as they become increasingly rare, also becoming much harder and more expensive to find and then develop.
Similarly, in the case of smaller fields, a greater degree of attention to costs and to technical innovation is required in order to allow the economic recovery of discovered reserves. Unfortunately it is hard for larger oil companies because of the operating and cost structures which, historically have been appropriate in development of large fields, make it difficult for these companies to develop a smaller fields. Often there is a lack of the requisite technical and operational skills and experience required to determine and implement the most appropriate development solution in respect of their assets.
Consequently, a large number of marginal and mature assets sit in the equity portfolios of oil companies without being developed, or deve
loped to their full potential.
The situation of Oil & Gas fields in Indonesia is not far from the global. There are a lot of Oil & Gas fields in Indonesia especially in Pertamina‘s working areas that fall into this above mentioned category and Syabas Energy seeks to address these issues and allow us to take advantage of opportunities arising from this changing environment over Pertamina’s marginal and mature fields (brownfields).
